MANCHESTER, England - Francesco Tottis record-breaking goal earned Roma a 1-1 draw with Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday, exposing the English clubs struggles in European competition again. Craig Anderson Jersey .Three days after his 38th birthday, Totti become the oldest scorer in the Champions Leagues 22-year history by lifting a deft finish into the corner in the 23rd minute, showing his instincts in front of goal arent waning with age.The goal cancelled out a fourth-minute penalty won and converted by Sergio Aguero and put the Italian club in command of a likely race with Premier League champion City for second place in Group E behind Bayern Munich. Roma has four points from two games, three ahead of City and two behind Bayern. We have shown tonight we are at the height of this group, Roma coach Rudi Garcia said. We played against the champions of England, one of the richest teams in the world ... and my team played with personality and a certain confidence.Totti a€” playing as a lone striker in front of a lively Roma midfield a€” celebrated his goal with the familiar thumb-sucking routine that has followed so many strikes down the years. He broke the record held by Manchester United great Ryan Giggs, who was 37 years and 9 months when he scored against Benfica in 2011.I took great pleasure in his goal, Garcia said. His talent is what made the difference in front of the keeper.Aside from a strong final half-hour, Citys performance was as subdued as the atmosphere inside Etihad Stadium, where there were about 10,000 empty seats for one of the top games in Europe this week.City manager Manuel Pellegrini persevered with two strikers in Aguero and Edin Dzeko but that meant the teams midfield was overwhelmed at times, like it had been in games against Champions League heavyweights Barcelona, Bayern and Borussia Dortmund in recent years.Roma thrived in the first half, with Gervinho ubiquitous in his roving attacking role and Miralem Pjanic showing vision as the playmaker in a fluid midfield that had too much movement for City.Maybe we were not very accurate with our passing, Pellegrini said, so when we started losing too many balls we did not have enough midfielders to recover.City improved after bringing Frank Lampard on for Dzeko and shifting to a 4-5-1 formation, but never seriously threatened Lukasz Skorupskis goal despite dominating possession late on.After opening with a 1-0 loss in Munich, Citys Champions League struggles continue. Despite the vast sums of money in the six-year regime of Sheikh Mansour, the club has only advanced from the group stage once in three seasons. We have just one point, Pellegrini said, but also we are just three points behind Roma so there are a lot of things, to play for.Citys only clear-cut chance of the first half was the penalty, awarded when Maicon tugged Aguero as the striker ran onto David Silvas pass. Maicon, who endured a disappointing year at City in the 2012-13 season, was the last man but received only a yellow card.Aguero picked himself up and sent Skorupski, standing in for the injured Morgan De Sanctis, the wrong way from the spot.City described Totti as a legendary player in a post on the clubs Twitter account before the game, adding: Hes never scored in England, has he?Obviously, that was tempting fate.Totti created a chance for Maicon with a brilliant through ball with the outside of his foot in the sixth minute. Maicon crashed his shot against the bar, keeping Citys lead intact, but Totti made no mistake when he had his first sight on goal.Radja Nainggolan slipped a pass through a gaping hole in Citys defence and Totti showed a turn of pace, to run onto the ball and clip a delicate shot over goalkeeper Joe Hart.Last-ditch tackles were required in Citys defence in the 15 minutes either side of halftime and Hart produced a brilliant save early in the second half to deny Pjanic.Roma deserved a point and showed it could be one of the surprises of this seasons competition, having started group play with a 5-1 thrashing of CSKA Moscow. Bill Torrey Jersey . While plenty of statistics illustrate Torontos turnaround in the second year of manager Ryan Nelsens tenure, stopping goals is not one of them. Lukas Krajicek Jersey . - Robert Griffin III has a sprained throwing shoulder that limited him in practice Wednesday as the Washington Redskins prepared for their season finale against the Dallas Cowboys. https://www.panthersjerseycheap.com/ . PETERSBURG, Fla.TORONTO -- Former Ontario premier David Peterson helped bring the 2015 Pan American Games to Toronto. His next task is to take things to the finish line. Peterson, who served as premier between 1985 and 1990, was named chair of the TO2015 organizing committee Monday afternoon. He replaces Roger Garland, who has held the job since 2009. Peterson was the chair of Ontarios bid to get the Games. He was joined by Garland, chief executive officer Ian Troop and dozens of TO2015 staffers for the announcement at the organizations downtown office. Peterson, who was nominated to the position by Premier Kathleen Wynne, thanked Garland for his efforts in creating a strong foundation over the last few years. "Think of it this way -- Roger was the cake and Im the icing," Peterson said with a smile. "And I get to do all the good stuff. Roger has done all the donkey work. He has put this organization together on a sound financial basis, great people have been hired across the board, all the wheels are moving together and in a very thoughtful way." The Pan Am Games will be held from July 10-26, 2015 in several communities across the province. The Parapan Games are slated for Aug. 7-14. Garland didnt offer specifics on reasons for his departure and did not take questions from reporters. A news release said he would be moving on to new opportunities. "In short, now is the perfect time for transition,"t; he said in a statement. Robert Svehla Jersey. "Ive accomplished what I set out to do. To use an appropriate sports analogy, Im passing the baton for the next racer to carry for the final 100 metres of the relay race, confident that Ive done my part to ensure the teams success." Garland told staffers in attendance there was a "lot of disappointment" but that there were many good things about the transition. "I think there are those phases of grief you go through when youve lost something and yet there is a positive side to it," he said, adding hes looking forward to spending more time with his wife, who will retire at years end. Garland, who plans to formally step down at a board meeting on Thursday, also said that hes very proud of the organizing teams effort. "Weve built an organization and a structure and a plan to put on the biggest Games in this countrys history and weve done it with a lot of constraints and a lot of discipline," he said. "So all I can say is I am just in awe of what you folks have done and Ive got enormous confidence going forward that youre going to continue to do what youve done up until now." Peterson is a senior partner and chairman of Cassels Brock LLP, where he practises corporate and commercial law. He was the founding chairman of the Toronto Raptors and also served as chancellor of the University of Toronto until June 2012. ' ' '
